The Green Finger Initiative is the culmination of my independent research project at the Royal College of Art, focusing on the complexities of London’s food system and production. The project began with an exploration of systemic issues related to procurement and resilience, which led to insightful interviews with local farmers. Through future-scoping exercises, I envisioned a preferred image of London in 2050—where local sourcing, resilience building, and civic engagement in food production reshape the city into a pioneering hub for food and climate resilience. This vision highlighted a critical challenge: the lack of food education among children, who are increasingly disconnected from nature. To address this, I aimed to empower children to become active participants in this future.
Project Highlights :
Gamified Learning: Led the development of a project that introduces children to agriculture through interactive, gamified experiences.
Comprehensive Research: Conducted in-depth research, including literature reviews and farmer interviews, to identify gaps in the food system.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborated with education specialists, parents, and teachers to inform the design and development of the final solution.
